Thread: Side Panels on door and yellowing

Hello,

I have a white 97 Grand Prix GT and the sides are looking little bad because I have to when cleaning scrub the crap to get the dirt off. Some of them look to have shown some of the yellow primer underneight.

Can you remove all this stuff from the side and still have it look nice? Or do I just need to remove them and repaint them or replace them with other parts repainted. I dont know why dirt is so hard to get off of there. Washing takes 30 min then im stuck another hour elbow greasing to clean those off to have it look decent. Which worked fine before but now the yellow makes it look old and gross.

Yeah I think that is what F'ed up the paint in the first place. I thought it had gone through the paint but it may be a good idea for me to go ahead and do a small sample to be sure you may be right it may just be finish yellowing

Thanks for the confirmation. Will try that tonight and possibly maybe a clay bar since seems that can clean crap out of the paint well too. Have lots of other parts I need to use that one as well. Will let you know if I have any luck!
