It seems like there is always a new thread about someone wanting to retrofit. When these posts pop up members are helpful, but often no longer remember or have all of the info/links they used when they did their retro. So I decided to post all of the links I found helpful when I was in the process of retrofitting mine. Hopefully this will help give people a kick-start for their project. If others have links they found helpful I suggest they post them and we try making a giant resource thread.

The links I posted may not be specific to the grand prix however, the more you read you will find new ideas, tips, and tricks to help you with your retro fit. The key to a good retrofit is patience.

I bought all of my stuff from The Retrofit Source, however you are free to shop around:

haha we'll see. i posted these once for matt palm in his retro thread when he first started it, and others thought it should be stickied aswell. just never happened. I decided to make a thread solely for the links in hopes that it would be easier for others to find.

nice, good luck. probably the most important thing to have is patience. I hope you didn't feel like i was calling you out. haha. I was just saying that the links were posted elsewhere and that thread was never stickied, which was the reason i made a separate thread with a title that pretty much says "links for retro in here". Hopefully this will be easy to find.

I would suggest having a second pair, unless you can live without your car for atleast a couple days. mine took me roughly 3 days but i painted my housings black and i chipped them when removing the lens so i had to do some repair work using a JB weld stick

oh i see. i had a lot of trouble taking the lens off. I also heard a wide range of temps and times used when baking them to loosen the adhesive. the plastic lip on the housing gets very brittle when you heat it so if its not budging more heat or more time, or both.

I did like 220º for 10-15 minutes. If it didnt want to move, I left it in there longer. But being careful is key, like said above the plastic housing does get soft.

Scuff them, clean and paint. I used a 3m red pad and worked great.

I think i got up to 270ish and i started to get the lens to peel off. but then it got tougher and i started to pry, thats when it chipped. i thought i read somewhere someone said 350 for removing the lens. it really depends what sealant is on the headlight. start low work your way up.

As for the painting, sand lightly or scuff, clean, spray.

**edit: oh and because the edge of the lens is textured (gives a frosted like appearance) you don't really see the edge of the inside of the housing. So after you get the lens off, if you wanted to do a 2 tone type of deal you might want to check how much of the inside edge of the housing you actually see.

For scuffing I used a green scotch brite...worked great for getting the back of the housing.

Same thing applies, just scuff the shroud up and paint it.
