Thread: Painting coil packs

So i wanted to paint my engine coils on my grand prix to make the engine compartment look better. I have heard some people say that paint holds the heat in the coils and is bad for them. Is this true?

lol thats what i thought, i didn't think the paint would do anything since im just painting the plastic. its not like im going to paint the connection between the coil and the wire

I think they came out pretty good

I just used about 3 coats of high temp paint. I cleaned off all three coils first then taped off the connection part. The side view of the back one is alright because some of the paint wasn't sticking to it but thats the only thing i had a problem with. you cant see where the paint wasnt sticking when its on the car though

maybe throw a couple of dabs of red on the little bolt heads with a q-tip

thanks and i know lol the bolts look out of place

is there a high temp flat black? and do these need high temp?
