I still think the best point made so far is finding a way to tune an 08 GP.

I'm from Michigan. I will be heading that way in February since my 3 1/2 year contract is up now for the United States Army. Michigan has lots of GP's.

I understand you can't tune it, that's why I'm completely swapping out everything. Computer, engine, tranny, suspension.

    Don't waste your money.

And get rid of the 12,000k HIDs. Put something useful in like 5000k.

Don't waste your time. N/A 04-07's are dirt cheap now. For the price of converting yours you could have bought a whole car. I know you are excited about the potential, but you need to slow down and think logically.

What do you guys mean exactly when you say the 08 GP is non-tunable. Does that mean I wont be able to run the stage 3 Jet Performance Chip correctly? I have it hooked up to the ECU right now, but I don't know if it's working to it's potential.

    wut?

Those are all a scam.. "chips" are fake and don't do shiit. You need an actual TUNE, where someone hooks a laptop up to your car and manually tunes it to what you desire. But 08's are finicky and don't like to be unlocked for tuning.

The only thing you can do to an 08'a is a CAI and an exhaust, maybe squeeze a few Mg's out of it. They can not be tuned. Because tuning is required for everything from a 180 t-stat to a turbo, you are stuck. Either get an older GP or get used to being slow.

-_- please do your research before you try to give advice. You can do a lot more that doesn't require tuning... and 08's CAN be tuned, its just difficult.

yeah dude, i dont know what youre talking about. you can get another PCM from i think 04 and then put it in, gas gauge will read wrong but itll have the ability to be tuned.

    That doesn't work on 08. Only 06 and 07.

You can make easily 500whp without tuning it... An afc goes a long way.

I have. He could have a Delphi PCM, all depends on what he has. Also COUCH has an 08 with a PCM swap... food for thought.

    Hmm, not entirely.

Would be a little lean at WOT.

Easy performance has one that will skew maf at certain engine speeds IIRC. That would be a more ideal solution.

All the 3 letter words are not helping me at all since I'm not a mechanic but thanks anyways. But I took that chip out today to see the difference. The chip does make a difference I can tell. It's not a whole lot of gain, but it's enough to make my 20" rims seem like they are just plain factory tires. I don't feel the added weight of the rim's anymore when I accelerate.

This. I see the placebo effect all the time. Just like people driving stock SOHC Civics thinking running 93 makes their car faster.
