Can anyone tell me if the regulator can be repaired? The motor works in both directions but does not move the window. Do these have a rack and pinion to raise / lower the glass? The parts are not that expensive but I don't want to buy one if it can be repaired instead.

    Thanks

The motor runs a pulley and the pulley raises and lowers the window with a stainles steel cable.

Take it apart - maybe the cable popped our of its place.

You most likely have a snapped cable on the regulator. And no, you can't fix it. Just get a replacement regulator assembly and call it a day. I actually rewound one of my old ones once when I was in a pinch and it took about 4 hours to get it properly in the regualtor housing and working again. Truly not worth the time vs. a $50 replacement, other than the fact that I can say I've done it, lol...
