Just ordered 4300k for my grand prix 2003 fog lights, I was just wondering how easy or hard is this to do? Does anyone have write ups on this. I got VVME 4300k and my fog housing is a bit fogged and ugly looking so I was wondering if it be better to buy a new housing as well of amazon or will that one be good?
And where did you guys mount your ballast? and if you have any pics or videos that will serve good for this

i mounted my ballasts up top under the headlight housings on the bumper support with 3m body tape, and ran the wiring down the sides. there just long enough to reach the fogs, and for the fog housings, id find some from a junkyard or something, cause even with the 35w hids, every gp ive seen has melted lenses, so you might not even want to buy new ones

I have 8000K bulbs in my fogs and run them from 2-6 hours at a time day and night with no trouble or hint of melting.

Check local salvage yards, should be plenty out there (if you want replacements). SE, GT, and GTP all have the same front ends.

Wow thanks a lot!! That other post got me scared from the guy that said his housing melts and stuff. I bet he doesn't have HID's in his fog housing so he wouldn't know. Your answer actually relived me. I got kind of worried that I might of wasted 70 $ on garbage, But now I can't wait to get my HID's

Are your fogs more brighter now that you have HID's in them? or just a little bit brighter?

I think the people that complain about melting lenses are the ones that use 55w instead of 35w (from what I read). I have the 6000K in my headlights 8000K in my fogs both 35w sets and so far I have had nothing but good luck.

YES my fogs are much brighter then they were originally, they need to be adjusted, but they are brighter. The 4300K's you ordered will actually be brighter then mine. Well maybe not brighter, but more "true" light. Mine have the blue tint to them.

Yeah well I hope I get lucky and my housing stays good, I guess its a luck thing. And Yea I was aiming to having a 4300k for the white yellowish look and my 6000k low beams so that way I can actually notice a difference while driving down the street because i think if both were 6000k den I would be seeing the same thing and won't notice much difference.
Can't wait to get them done. I'm gonna post some pics this coming week of them at night

No read my signature, I have 35w 12000k hids from vvme and I know exactly what I was talking about
. The vvme 880 bulbs are too close to the lenses which is where mine are melted.

Did I say you didn't know what you were talking about? You are just one that had a bad experience with yours. Just like everything else, there are people that have had great results and some that had not so great results.. That's why this is a forum page to provide info and inform.

As Odi said, it's hit and miss. Search the forum pages, many GP owners, me included, have not had issues with HID's in their fogs. As I said before I have ran my HID's in my fogs for 4-6 hours straight day and night with no issues at all...

Other then being dirty, need to wash the car, fogs are fine...

No guy, I wasn't ranting to you, I was trying to provide some advice to "Osvaldo" from personal experience with hids and he tells me I don't know what I'm talking about. That's what's getting my panties in a bunch

I'm thinking of getting some of the glas housings so I don't run into this problem anymore. Dbextreme, what brand kit are you using? My buddys camaro has an 880 xentec kit and the bulbs are about half the length of mine

I would look at the blazertec ones, I have read good reviews about them but not looked into them (not that far along on my exterior mods). There are some good threads about these as well I'll look into them more when I start changing my lights around. MIGHT try to retro fit some projectors in my fogs.. LOL

It's all good sorry I'm stressed to the hilt cause my engine bay had a light fire and finding a good engine harness to replace mine is like a needle in a hay stack.. err so if I come across frustrated I'm sorry.

I am running DDM HID's DDM Tuning : HID Kits ( <--- Link) in mine. I have heard a lot of good things and some bad as well but they were reasonable and for the price of silverstars you can get these with a lifetime warranty. For two kits 9007 and 880 35w, two HD harness kits, and shipping ran me $109 I believe.

Excuse my attetude the other day, I was kind of bummed from what you have told me. I'm gonna have to take the risk since I bought my HID's already but if they do melt ill buy a glass one that I have found online for 70 $ :/ Pure money wasted when I should of ordered the blazertech's instead but I guess time will tell.. Thanks for the heads up so I don't get surprised if I see them melted one day

Yea I heard blazertech's are good. If my Hids melt my housing then I might consider buying those blazertech and just get over hid's or maybe that glass housing. But both are 69.99 at a website I found, and the blazertech are 70 also so its a equal buy but then again I hear I need a special braket for those that cost 49.99 which is kind of dumb to pay 50 for just a bracket. I'll just have to wait and see and which once serve me better

Yea I seen that housing as well, I found it for 70 something. How much did you find it?

Really, I've heard to but i guess when i consider buying them ill take the time to look for a way to mount them without buying the brackets. With those 49.99 dollars for them brackets, I could buy some HID's for those blazertech. But I guess time will tell. I'll post some pics up of my fog lights before and after when I get my HID's. Hope my housing doesn't melt soon or ever lol
