So I have a 2007 grand prix gt and I want to put hids in but I'm hearing a lot of things about the day time running light messing them up because they work on a lower amperage. Flickering and the lights turning off seem to be the main problems. I'm guessing the fog lights and high beams will be fine because those are either on or off but is there a way to turn off the "drl" so I dont have to deal with this problem? In the earlier prixs there was just a fuse to pull or a harness to unplug to get the "drl" to turn off but I've tried everything on my 07 prix but I failed. Anyone know anything so I can get my sexy hids and be a poon magnet?? <---dramatization

Thank you very much for any and all help!

My 08 you can turn the drls off by twisting the light switch ackwards toward auto... Just have to remember to do it all the time. My hids seem to have a vibrating look when sitting still, which may be flickering, idk.

Yeah thats what I do now to turn my lights off but I heard that quick ons and offs are readily bad for hids and can burn out the ballasts. Thats why I'm looking for a way to make them not turn on at all untill the might time light come on or I manually turn them on

From what I have heard if you pull the DRL fuse, it also kills the Auto feature.

There isn't a drl fuse on my car. I've looked in my book and looked at both sets of fuses and there isn't anything for them

my 08 has the drl harness cuz they flickered twice. I have never had a problem but i did hv to cut n cross the two leads and do the same to my drl. Now, i have four headlights on high beams.
