So this is a long post but a pretty cool mod if you ask me.

Cadillac Developed a seating system that has a series of 10 Air Blatters and uses 8 air pressure sensors that monitor the pressure in the blatter and then readjust every 4 minuets. There are a few different modes as well. There is off, AUTO, and lumbar only. so when the system is in auto, then the system goes to work making the occupant comfportable. lumbar only uses the air blatters in the backrest of the seat to give you your support.

it was a option that added $1,650 to the vehicle way back in 1998-2000.

    anyway onto the pics

here is all the parts layed out on the table in Trim

the seat with the bottom cusion ff

back of the seat showing the lumbar

there is the leather off and the blatters mocked up in place

Back of the seat showing the Moudule and the pump for the blatters

the module mocked up in place with the pump

the bottom bags glued in place (using he same arear the GM used for bag movement)

because the Caddy has a different seat cusion design i had to be creative so i took some Last and sewed it into the plastic lumbar plate, so the orignal seat cusion will stick to it

here is the back bags glued in place

i did have to modify the hook and loop of te seat cover so the air lines can get o the correct place

and the money shot. The completed seat with the blatters and the cover reinstalled

adjustable bolsters not only in the backrest but in the bottom cusion.....ya eat your heart out AL7's

Great write up but a few quick questions
1.) What make and ,models caddie had this option, or where go we get them from? Makes it easier when we hit the junk yards.
2.) Did you take the foam and all and transfer them to a grand prix seat, or did you put a caddie seat in your Grand prix

    Thanks

The bladders, module, and pump came from a 98-2000 Seville STS with the Adptive Seat option. It has to say "AUTO" on the lumbar switch that is located onto the seats. Both the passenger and driver units were pulled from a junkyard

the Foam is the OEM from My Bonneville. But could be adapted to any car with some enginuity.

and the wiring is very simple, its Power, Ground and Ign 3 to make the module activate

Looking forward to someone doing this to GP wooden bench seats. Maybe I won't have to switch to Regal seats to be comfy in my GTP!

P... I was on vacation and didn't it that you had it done. Awesome job as usual. Got both completed?

And yes..when I get there in June, I'm kinda expecting you or I to have a set for the Regal by then. It's going in. I'm missing the Bonneville AL7's still... W body seats (unless you talk 90 turbo car seats) suck monkey butt.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Would Deville seats work as well? The lumbar says auto so I would think that it would work. Here's a pic...

Gonna try this on my 06 gp seats. Would the bladders go over the heat element and work? Also, where did you mount the switch for this? Just wondering.

    thanks
