Ok, about a month ago I "fixed" the passenger side leak in my car, using the REPAIR directions. Well, last night there was a good rain storm, and I checked the passenger side floor. WET!I still haven't put in new carpet, so at least nothing major is getting soaked.
I took a look again at my repair. The water deflector was still attached; I used RTV. So I decided to do a test, running some water down the windshield, and watching what happened. The water went right over the water deflector, down into the intake. Some was directed to the ends as well, though, so it was working better. Sure enough, inside of the car the floor was freshly wet. It was dry before I tested, so it's not leftovers.
I DID notice the plenum water deflector looked droopy. Is this possible? The car is 8 years old, but I want to know if it's just something I'm going to have to live with, or should I replace the deflector. Granted, I checked the dealer and the deflector price is cheap, I think $8. But if putting it on won't fix the problem, I won't do it. I'm almost tempted to put a cabin filter in there to absorb the water, then replace it once a year.
