Guz I just ordered a set of the Philips X-treme bulbs. Can't wait to try them out.

Because it's bad for HIDs to be frequently switched on and off. Which is why you get normal HIDs and get bixenon projectors :P

On a side note, I'm interested to see the results of these bulbs.

The Bixenon's for the 9007 are single filament and they either tilt or telescope. So actually the on/off doesn't apply in this situation. But as for the Philips Im gonna take comparison pix between my crappy sylvanias and the Philips

Theres be no info on these things minus "HID ATTITUDE"

and that doesn't impress me much considering silverstar ultras are 50% brighter than stock halogens at 80% output.

    Woo marketing.

I was referring to your question of why HIDs can't be simple like halogen hi/low. The answer being that it's detrimental to the longevity of HID bulbs to operate them like normal halogens.

I love my streetglow bulbs, and they were half the cost of these ZXE things. Plus I feel like I'm in the original F&F movie with a streetglow brand product. You can't put a price on that.

I'd say they're deff an improvement over the sylvania extra visions that I had. No comparison pix yet though

extravisions are "30%" brighter, should be around 4% brighter than stock replacements.

    STU's claim 50%, actual is 20%

After installing my new headlights and comparing the new bulbs that came with those and the sylvania's i can tell a pretty signifcant difference. I can see farther with the sylvania's then the stock ones that came with the headlights and it is definitely brighter than the stock as well. For the price i would definitely recommend them.
