so ive been thinking about buying some led lights at work and i was wondering if anyone knew if you can remove the door panel red lens off without taking off the door, it would save a ton of time and i wont have to buy retaining clips!

yes you can, but be careful, i poped mine out one day becuase i forgot to hook the bulb back up after taking off a door panel to replace the side mirror.. well needless to say the plastics were very brittle and it broke the retaining clip.
but otherwise they just pop right in

yeah the newer the car the less damage to the plastics, on my 99 the first time i took the door panel off i lost a bunch of clips due to just brittle plastics. and yes i used the proper tools to avoid damage in the first place.. thats why i didnt lose all of them! lol

yea i dont want to remove the door panel, im sick of taking the door panel off. i was just hoping it would be easy to remove the red lens only and replace the lights. are the clips for the lens on the top and bottom?

The rounded part towards the inside of the door. The clips are left to right

thanks for the info! got it out but broke a clip. so i wrapped it in camper tape to shim it up and pushed it back in. not only does it not squeak anymore (was driving me nuts) but you cant even tell!
