I have a black 04 GT. I currently have 2 coats of VHT nightshade drying on my tails and 3rd brake light.

The tails are the LED tails with red lens. So they are much brighter than stock.

The lights look dark enough to me but only cause i am worried about a 3rd coat and how much light it will block.

I was wondering what the people that have used this product though.

Not only am i trying to avoid the 5-0, but i do want people to be able to see the lights so i do not get clobered.

yes, it's enough. the third coat might make it darker than you want.

they dry darker than they are when painted at first.

Thanks, i was wondering how dark they dried. I would love to give them another coat but fear i am giving up some safety.

Now just gotta add 3 coats of clear and buff to a mirror shine

mine were really dark when they first got done, but now they lightened up. i wish i would have added another coat. (I did three btw)

I would do 3 coats at least if i were you, depending on your thickness (i did mine medium-heavy coats). i was worried about tail light brightness but i was fine.

    Were your the stock lens's/bulbs??

How much light output did you give up with 3 coats??

Were they still bright enough in day and night???

    Were the clear coated??

This is my set with a third coat, I would have done 4. These were pretty light coats as well.

I did about 5-6 coats on mine. They were really dark. Now after a year they faded and look like ****

Well, i did 3 coats. just gotta clear now.

For some reason my 3rd brake light is not laying smooth. I sanded it really good and once i spray the VHT starts looking like it has cracks. I resanded all VHT off and resprayed and did the exact same thing. Even after three coats.
Not sure what to do next.

If i could find a 3rd brake light new i would buy it. They seem hard to come by.

Three coats on mine, and 2 coats of clear, with sanding in between, no buffing.
