i would like some input as to what i should do with my taillights. i picked up another set and would like to see what everyone thinks i should do

my taillights are "3 piece" so to say. outer clear lens, inner colored lens, and then the back
**NOTE: unless noted, i i plan on keeping the "grid" in them. i dont feel that it would look right without them

heres what the factory ones look like un touched:

    heres how it is currently:

option 1: Clear and background color (black)
    - for this i would cut/take them apart and then remove the colored lenses, and grid, paint the backing high gloss black and then buy colored bulbs

option 2: Clear and body color background (white)
    - same as option 1 except i would use high gloss white instead of black

option 3: Remove lenses and tint
    - for this i would cut/take them apart, buy colored bulbs and then tint the outside clear lens (tinted tails in a different way, this should have them appear to be brighter [in theory] since there is only 1 lens for light to travel through instead of 2.)

option 4: Tint the new ones, not so dark though
    - do i realy need to explain?

option 5: Go custom or go home, LED tails
-make custom led tails since there is no such thing for pregens, removing the grid and building it into the LED layout, keeping the lenses clear

    option 6: LED + tinted
-needless to say, same as #5 but tinted

option 7: Keep them the way they are
    -tinted

    option 8: stock
-since the ones that i just got look like new and not the ones in the first pic

    any other ideas?

you can't bake tail lights. you have to cut them apart. tail lights are always plastic welded together and you cannot bake them like headlights. break out your dremel bro.

however, i say make a set of LED tails, but tint them. clear tails are gawdy.

my brother is making a set of led tails for his car and printing the circuit boards himself too hes got a 2001 eclipse, so he has the round tails. for me im thinking i would use somthing similiar to a breadboard (like a blank, predrilled circuit board looking like a mini pegboard) instead of making my own circuit board like my brother is.

why print a circuit board? that costs money you dont need to waste. all you need to do is have a piece of anything and you can make the array by yourself. the problem with doing this is that you need to make sure you have all your resistance values where they need to be and if you wanted you could do some really interesting stuff with turn signals and what not. i plan on making a set for my bike when i get the ambition to do something like that. integrated tails are awwwweesoomme.

ya thats what im thinking. i find it not being very practcal to print a board. whatever tho...

ya im not seeing what im looking for on google. unlessss...... i could use some like 1/8" plexiglass and then maybe paint it? idk it would be hidden by the tinted outer lens anyways, im crazy like that id probly paint it.... but im thinking of using 12v LEDs and then wire/solder them in parallel

im not sure what it would all take yet (LEDs 12v? lower voltage w/ resistors inline? board used). i need to look into everything more yet
