If you're putting morimoto projectors in you will need H1 HID bulbs for those H1 projectors. You can use your ballasts you have now and just get a 9006 bi-xenon relay harness from TRS so everything is plug and play.
So you need...
Morimoto H1 projectors and mini gun shrouds
1 pair Morimoto H1 HID bulbs 4300k, 5000k, 6000k etc your choice
1 9006 bi-xenon relay harness
I've got Mori H1 projectors and shrouds at the house, I ordered a few sets last week. I have 4300k, 5000k, 6000k Mori H1 bulbs here too. I don't have the 9006 relay harness at my residence just 3 9007 relay harnesses. TRS is 1 hr from me. You can get the parts off me or Matt at TRS...
Projectors and shrouds I sell for same price as TRS $120
Mori H1 bulbs are $50
New updated 9006 relay harnesses are $35 has 2 40 amp relays 1 for each headlight great harness IMO...
I don't make money off parts just the retro labor..... PM if you want a set of projectors, shrouds, and bulbs, I can have harness here next day too....
They're DDM digital slim ballasts Jmo, nicely constructed pieces if I must say so myself. I personally have Raptor ballast and they're HUGE compared to these. If you want Morimoto ballast get them but they're expensive.... a ballast either ignites the bulb or it doesn't and DDM has lifetime warranty on their ballast. Worth $45 plus shipping all day! Plus you get a set of bulbs on top of that can look pretty sitting in your tool box while you wait for your Morimotos to never burn out lol.......
I'm curious clean, have you used your morimoto projectors in a set of our aftermarket projectors?
I have yet to see anyone ask this question.
Nope sure haven't bob.... although Boostjunki3 may be trying it from what I understand. Honestly don't see it working out or fitting but boost may be using the "shroud" that's in the ebay projectors. I don't see it fitting with mini guns in there. We will see but you'd still have that 3 inch gap from the bottom of the ebay projector to the top of your bumper and no adjustability..... don't see it being worth it. Either buy ebay projectors and use them how they come and live with it or do it right the first time imo... Plus you'd have to mount the mori's with 4 bolts and nuts since you couldn't use the lock ring..... good luck drillin holes and gettin that rotation correct .... to much work !
I cant wait the anticipation is killing me LOL!!!!! These are gonna be sweet especially with that cast coat iron color I must say so myself.
Oh I know I will lol thats a fact.
Dremel tool failure......!
New dremel tool in the house........!!!!!
Here's some teaser pics fastpaced.... mind you I'm not even close to done these clear corner black housings take way more work for some reason to sit in there right. These are dusty, need cleaned, need trimmed more and I have to take at least a 1/4 inch more of the inside raised ring for the lock ring to thread enough to allow the bolting on of the 3 screw bulb holder in the back. I'm just going to take my time on these because they're going to look awesome and I want nothing but perfection for you...
One's done besides repainting the housings flat black and repainting the shroud a couple more coats, the one pictured still needs all the work I mentioned above but it will give you a general idea of what you're looking at....
WOW THOSE LOOK SO AWESOME!!!! I cant wait. Thanks for the teaser pic lol I've been anxiously waiting . Those are going to be PERFECT!!!
damn, i wish i had black shrouds!
maybe in a while, time to finish my gen v stuff and make it move faster.
Looking good!
Progress.... final test fit tonight... clean everything wipe it all down and seal tomorrow I'm hoping.....
Ok I thought I was finishing up with this retro.... checked rotation and it was way off still. I pulled the projectors and did more dremel work.. this is the final test fit... honestly I'm calling it perfect if someone can get these more level than this then you're better at it than I. Here's fastpaced's cutoff picture the post on the right of the oil pans doesn't do it justice but it's perfectly level IMO... I'm happy with this and will seal the housings and corners tonight. Retro will ship tomorrow mid day!
I applaud you. That is some amazing work looks great to me.
