I want to say that the lights in the HVAC controls are small incandescent bulbs that are soldered onto a circuit board so replacing them will probably be a PITA.

You are correct on this. Changing just the bulbs will not do anything without the red film removed. You will need to remove the red film some how.

yea i know that the HVAC lights are wired to the bored but someone told me that you can just change the hood(film) but i dont know how, and i followed the Sylvania's site before and it doesnt cover all of them, the ones listed are the common lights(bulbs) that go out, you could just change them but them it'll be muti-colored

So, if you know that the HVAC control lights are wired to the board and that you need to change the colored film why are you asking about the bulbs?? I'm confused...and autistic.
