bouncing is not because of the headlight itself, its because of the brackets that hold the light in.
That would be overkill
Don't think any ebay headlights get much thought personally
Other thoughts:
-personal experience tells me that those high beams will suck cause they are using some flashlight reflectors.
-those halo rings will probably be weak and probably won't fully light the whole ring evenly
-Supposedly they are H1 projectors, which is a step up from previous ebay headlight models which all used fog h3 bulbs. Interested in seeing output and cutoff. Again you get what you paid for, granted these are $300 a real projector set costs $200. Think about it. There is probably $40 worth of material here.
In the end...I'll bee keeping my projector retro but I am interested in seeing how these work out for you guys.
did some quick research and these are in fact a product of Spyder. it's listed on their website now, and i checked the address of their website to the location of the ebay seller. Now let's hope they learned from their last grand prix product.
Well they say its an H1 projector, so thats somewhat promising. But to be honest there is not a lot of room in these headlights so that is one really small projector (normal projectors are 5-6" long, and there is only about 3-4" of play in the headlights)
But the High beam I can already tell is garbage for output
I had an 01 Aurora and I have a 99 LHS and both have halogen projectors for headlights and the beam output for both was/is ****, even after putting in HID's. The H11 projector fogs on my GXP are nothing to write home about either. Halogen bulbs in projectors just plain suck for light output.
Retrofit eh?
I don't want to even begin to tell what you have to do to get REAL projectors to fit on these cars
The wiring harness that pretty much makes my headlights plug-n-play
well high beams for the 6th gen GP prjectors are garbage anyway, but whats the piont of high beams when you have projectors? i never use my highs unless its to flash some1 to tell them to go at and intersection in the day time. however my freind wants to buy these in a few weeks and ill be putting them in so ill be sure to let everyone know about the quaility
I'll probably buy them. I have an '07 black GT Special Edition. I wouldn't mind seeing the black headlights on my car. Any idea on the socket of the lights to see if my HIDs would fit?
In other words I would need to spend a couple more bucks to get the HID's for these lights if I were to get them? Think it's worth it? My guess is around 300 for everything.
I just got an email back from him and he said that the Hi's and Low's are H1. So I would need to get another HID system. Do you think these will mount flush like the stock lights? I just wish someone would buy them before I do.
Wow, H1's for high beams too? H1's are 55W versus the stock 65W 9005 so the light output for the high beam probably will be terrible. As far as sitting flush, they should...if not then they'd be a waste of $200+. HID's will definitely produce a hell of a lot more output in the projector but it's still a halogen projector so I don't know. I'd wait a few months for the price to come down on them just in case they're not what you expect.
As for the HID's you'll only need to buy new bulbs since you already have ballasts.
Yes they are H1 for high beams as well. If you do get these headlights I think they're pretty much useless unless you get HIDs. I'm just going to have to figure out how to wire the eyes as my DRLs.
Any ideas or advice? Mine as well give them a try!
