Hey guys got a quick question. Have an 07 GP base and the manual says change the oil every 5000 km. So on to the question, it has been that long but the oil life monitor has not "told" me to change. Everything is normal. Oil looks good, should I change or wait for the monitor to advise me? So basically I am asking if I should trust the monitor or just go with the tried and true odometer reading? And yes the monitor was reset when oil was changed

simply change your oil every 3-5k miles depending on oil type. forget everything else ive learned the car does not make a good choice as to when to tell you to change it. just remember to change it in that interval of miles...

i change mine every 6,000 miles or less. i don't let my indicator go below 50% oil life either...i use synthetic oil...and it seems to be just fine this way. if you are running conventional, i would stick with what the manual says regardless of the monitor system or how it looks on the dipstick...

guys, he said KM, 5000 km = 3000 miles.... so you're safe.

Personally I'd run synethetic and change it every 10 K km or run it the full length of the OLM.

I go by the OLM, use amsoil synthetic and send a sample to Blackstone labs and according to them the oil still has life in it, last few changes have been around the 14K Km mark
if your just using conventional oil yes its better to go with 5K km intervals
