I've been wanting to et my windows tinted so I went to get a price last week. I was wondering for those who tinted their gp how it was installed with the third brake light in the window. Did you have the tint cut around it or did they get tint behind the brake light in the window.

if you want them to tint behind the third brake light i would suggest taking it out before you take it in. they cut around mine since i didnt take it out.

If I were to get it done i would have them go over it, mine looks goofy with it cut out. It's an old pic but you get the idea.

I would think it would look better if they cut around it, if they dont thé brake light would always look dim. Just wasn't sure if it would look weird cut around, so your looked good like that?

X2 on what Bio said. I removed my third brake light and rear deck before I took my car in. The third brake light is covered, but lights up just fine thru the tint. Ive only seen one other GP on the road with the third brake light covered and it looks much cleaner. Besides, the darker you go, the dumber the cut out will look.

In fact, many new cars have the third brake light behind the factory tint. (IE: Chevy HHR)

    Heres mine. 35% tint.

Our brake lights aren't that bright to begin with. They're fine at night, but can be difficult to see in bright sunlight. I replaced mine with brighter bulbs even though my CHMSL wasn't covered. If you do cover it, I'd recommend getting brighter bulbs.

I can't remember if it's 3496 or 3497 that fits in our CHMSL, but if you can figure out which it is it'll be noticeably brighter.

796 is a 35W bulb. It should be safe for stock wiring and the housing (I believe.

There's also the 795, which is a 50W foglight bulb. I'm not sure if the wiring or housing will handle this much power.
