That's good to know, but it doesn't really answer my question haha. Does it make it ok for the locking/unlocking lights to flash on the car? I didn't think the flashing was good for the hid's. Does having the harness make it ok to have the blinking?

    sorry, I misread your question.

I believe you still want to disable DRLs and the unlock/lock flashing with HID's as to prevent them from early failure.

The harness only protects your factory harness from getting overloaded. (as I understand it)

Do you know the process to disable the lights flashing when locking/unlocking? If not, it's in the user manual.

You could also flip on your high beams before you get out of your car that way only the high beams flash and not the low and fog lights. Even when you turn the car on and the lights turn on and then off when you crank it and then back on, the high beams will still be on. Until you flip it back to normal low beam fog light operations.

wow, so simple a cave man could do it!.... just had to think it up.

......except I have HID high and low beams coming, so that trick won't work for me...

This is why you don't get HID's for the high beam lmao.

Ok well thanks for the info guys. I'll probably just end up disabling the flash or something. It's not that big of a deal. Do you guys still recommend getting the harness thing though?

Here's the wiring^^^ (everything works fine except the stupid fast turn signal...)
If you need more wiring pics let me know.. but im thinking this is the problem with this thing

Here's the problem - Turn signal flashes twice as fast when turn signaling.. no broken bulbs, checked and rechecked them.

I just put in my HID's today... (I think it's the same kit you have) and my blinkers are just fine.

Sorry, I drew a diagram on the wiring, but I didn't match em up to the factory colors, nor did I take a pic of what the wiring is supposed to look like... Maybe I can double check tomorrow or soemthing.

Sorry, I didn't get exact pics. We took off for vacation before I could get to it.

However, here's what I used, which is all from here: https://www.ddmtuning.com/support/in...1&pcid=0&nav=0

I can't upload the diagrams on here, but they are at the bottom of the link above. titled 9004vs9007 and hi/lo wire colors.

Did you get the upgraded wiring harness at all? perhaps that's part of the problem? I got the dual HID kit, so it came with the upgraded harness and I wire straight into the battery, the one headlight connector, the ballasts, and the bulbs. You can also call DDM, they're pretty helpful as I've spke to them a couple of times.

If you didn't get the harness, you could try to call them and see what they recommend, perhaps the harness will fix it???

    good luck!

Ok so I want to get some HIDs. I know I have to buy the harness which is 15 bucks.

Now for the kits I'm looking at Ebay ones, one is Xentec and the other is HIDS4u. Just wanting to know if anyone had any problems with either? Seems the HIDS4u has a bit better quality but thought I would ask here. Thanks guys.

I was told a while ago that simply getting the slim ballast will work fine in the standard headlights for GP's?

HID Kits, BMW Aftermarket Bumpers & Lighting, DEPO - DDM Tuning

Thats the link. Is this true?

Yup, that's the kit I got. Just don't expect to use your brights anymore though... they suck. but the low beams are great! Had my car next to a G8 GT (we were playing today... I lost.. anyways) My low beams were brighter than his high beams... so no worries there!

yup, stock housings, no mods. Finally got some pics.

Fogs are stock... but they are the Limited Edition, so they aren't what everyone else has; they use an H1 bulb and are really bright!

    Just for good measure:

    DDrum,

your wiring is the same as mine. I don't know why you'd have a fast turn signal just from installing the HIDs. perhaps the flasher is going out? Have you disconnected the HIDs to see if the problem goes away? You have a lifetime warranty on the lights, maybe something is faulty? (if disconnecting the HIDs solves the problem. *shrug*
