I purchased a set of Black based Halo Projector headlights from Racer-union with a HID 8000k Upgrade Install kit.

The problem i am having is with the HID's they are wired in and i have them both running the problem i run into is sometimes the driver side one shuts off when the car is off. The other problem i have is also the driver side one is not as bright and seems off for some reason.

Yet another i wired in the Halo's to my Side Markers the drivers side when car started the turn signal bulb and side marker stay lit. The passenger side neither come on but the halo's are on. And the turn signal works when activated but not the side marker how it flashes back and fourth.

Now my question on that is if the side marker bulb is burned out would the turn signal and side marker not light when the car is started like usual.

    Any other information just ask.

You should just wire the halos to the parking light, not the sidemarker since it wig-wags at night. The parking lamp wire is the brown one (the one you want), and the blue is the turn signal (the one you don't want).

Since you say you have halos I assume you have a 97-03 Grand Prix? Anyway, it sounds like the ballasts are losing power and shutting down when the car is shut off. When you shut off the car's engine the voltage will naturally drop slightly, though it still shouldn't drop enought to shut off the ballasts. This leads me to believe the HID's are not connected to a relay harness which means you will eventually fry them. This is all speculation as your description of the problem is kind of vague. Can you take pictures of the headlights and the HID ballasts? It would help.

They are not connected to a Relay. Kind of figured that would be the problem. Is there any instructions on setting it up that way ? btw it is a 97. Any i have the halo's wired into the side marker. to one brown and one blue wire the goes into the side marker ?

And i kind of like the wig wag with the halo's. Oddly enough i set them both up the same way on both sides and the problem i am having is only on the passenger side. No camera btw.

The sidemarker light wig-wags at night with the turn signal so the halos will probably blink crazily. Just connect the positive [+] (probably red wire) from the halos to the brown wire. Take the ground [-] (probably black wire) and connect it to any ground on the car, you could just use the black wire on the car's turn signal socket for simplicity.

A relay harness is simple to install. You obviously have aftermarket headlights so the wiring for the harness will need to be tweaked a little since you now have a 9005 hi-beam and a 9006 (or H7) low beam. Again, I'm not looking at your HID set up so I am only hypothesizing. If you could post pics it'd be REALLY helpful.

I have a standard 9005 High kinda sucks but since the grand prix lights are normally like that i never used the high's anyway and my HID is a single "Low" H1 8000k Kit.

That is my HID Kit that came with my headlights

HID PROJECTOR HEADLIGHTS 1997-2003 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX

And the above link is my Headlights.

Nice projectors. Quick question though, for the 97-03 Grand Prix are the DRL's the highbeam or the lowbeam? Did you disable them?

I forgot to mention as to the way the halo's are set up it is fine with me. The wig wag is ok they work the same as if they were a side marker meaning they are always on unless turn signal is activated then they wig wag back and forth with the turn signal kinda looks cool. I am just really worried about the HID's and setting up a relay.

i thought the 97-03 use the 9007 bulb for high and low. the 04+ use 9005 and 9006

The DRL is the Low which is the HID And i do not know how to disable them. If i take off the DRL would that also disable my lights turning on and off automatically ?

They are for OEM but he has the projectors that have H1's and 9005's.

DRL's operate at a lower voltage than the normal headlights. I think for the 97-03's you have to unplug a wire harness from a load resistor. It's behind the panel on the driver's side dash. I think someone did a write up on that. I'll try to find it.

I have an '07 GP so I can't really speak for the 97-03 for fact, but I think if you pull that wiring harness off of that heatsink in the dash it disables the DRL's but keeps auto function intact. Anyone with a 97-03 on here that did this?

still wondering about the relay part or even if i have to do it. And why my side marker and orange light are out for a reason like would the side marker being out make them both out when the driver side are both on when car started and lights full on. ?

You don't HAVE to do the relay harness, but it will keep your ballasts and bulbs from failing prematurely and would solve any flickering/not lighting problems.

The sidemarker being out would cause your halo not to work properly since the sidemarker bulb is completing the circuit. I still say you should connect the halo's + to the brown (parking lamp) wire and the halo's [-] to the car's ground, it would solve that problem.

I had the same problem with mine. As soon as the ballasts are moved ever so slightly they go out they're junk so I ordered a kit with digital ballasts from DDM Tuning. Two of my friends bought kits from DDM and they're built well and have a lifetime warranty so if you're considering scrapping the old ones I would check DDM Tuning out.

the halo's work fine. The lights out are the Passenger side Side Marker and Orange turn signal. The turn signal only comes on when the turn signal is activated.

I think it is not that. I belive that the problem is with the low voltage from the DRL but it's ok i will just make sure not to have the car on long without being turned on engine wise so there is plenty of voltage to the HID's and will also check for any loose wiring and everything.
