I ran out of primer and the maroon color is gone. I think I'll stop here. Well except for the LIM that has to be painted too. Good thing i have the silver duplicolor engine enamel left.

I'm currently layed off(job attached) collecting unenjoyment. Before somebody says it's the economy, it's not. It's construction this time of year. Each week i dream up something to do to occupy my time. I finished porting my heads. I painted my blower, valve covers, coolant bottle, coils, fuse box cover, heads, eventually the LIM(when it arrives) and i prepped and powdercoated brackets and stb. I fear all i have left is laundry and clean the house.

I've had a lot of questions about what paint i've been using so i took a pic of all the **** i used.

    From left to right
    Duplicolor engine enamel silver
    Bulldog adhesion promotoer(for plastic crap)
BASF custom blended maroon(don't let the duplicolor on the can fool you, that's just the can they use)
Auto prep use it to clean off grease and dust
    High build primer
BASF silvermist metallic only used it on the coolant bottle.

i painted my diagonal braces under my hood and after about a month if you get close enough it looks like the paint is cracking, i used the high heat dupli color, 1200 degree or 500 degree cant remember...should i just repaint them and let them sit over night? the cracks arent peeling off, its weird...

I don't think that Duplicolor makes 1200* paint, only 500*. How did you originally paint your cross braces? Did you do any prep work at all before you painted them because if you didn't that's probably the reason why the paint is cracking. If you want to get better results this time, strip off as much of the old paint as you can, lay down some primer and wet sand in between each layer to make it smooth, paint then clear coat. If you want results that will last you forever, powdercoating ftw.

duplicolor does make a few colors of 1200° paint -- black, white, red i think, and silver. i think that is all...

I painted my fuse box cover and one coil so far. I did the Red Duplicolor Engine Enamel, but also bought the clear coat to try it out. Seemed the clear coat was more of a milkly clear coat, so just repainted the final coat as the red. Anyone have experience with Duplicolor Clear Engine Enamel Paint?

I finally finished painting my coils a little while ago. They are Red, but I taped over the center part of the coils to keep a black stripe with the white number visible. I also painted the bracket that is above the coils.
