I was driving home from work one day when I saw a grand prix in front of me. At night I could see perfectly behind his exhaust tips, where there was a huge silver "spot" where the black paint was missing. It looked terrible.

Only thing is, that I have that same problem. A while back I worked on my tips, and someone mentioned "Clean up behind the tips! Its really noticable" Well the past two days I have put about an hour sanding, priming, and painting.

Today I sorta re did it because I was not satisfied. Well the only problem is that I ran out of paint... >:|

Anyway it doesnt not look that great, but it is much better than the dull black and chipped silver.

By the way, I am not finished with this yet. I still am going to finish up the rusted mounts and clean up the paint. I just need another day to get a new can of paint and some extra time. This is like a beta of what I want it to look like

Also the paint is still a little wet in some areas, so some areas may appear more shiny.

not a bad idea, just one of those lil details that make the car look better.

what type of paint you use? Could always use Eastwood's silver exhaust paint for that still new (not chrome in a can) look.

oh that looks nice as hell.

I actually used... Vehicle paint.. (I think thats what its called)

My pops used black paint to touch up one of his trucks. He had a lil left over and thats what I used. I think it will be able to hand the heat. If no good ole paint stripper is going to be good friends with the mufflers

Yep! I've done this to my GPs too. I usually hit em again every 6 months or so. I use Chacoal Grill paint, works well for me.
