Thread: Can you place a 97-00 SE front bumper on a 97-00 GTP?

I have a 2000 GTP and the front bumper cover is pretty shot. I was curious if I could replace it with the bumper from an SE which is cosmetically different. This mod is usually done the other way around because most people don't like the SE bumper, but I think it would be a unique mod since the bumper cover needs to be replaced anyway. My question pertains to whether it would fit correctly or not. Thank you.

You could get one from a GT, as they are the same as the GTP if you want to keep the stock GTP look.

I had an SE and yes they are ugly.

People out west (CO) always called 'em "catfish" grand prix's. Was the only other one I seen at the track the single time I went, lol.

What was the concern with the fitment, just general or maybe you saw something bein in the way?

My concern was that it either wouldn't be wide enough, or that it would be too high off of the ground compared to the rest of the car. The Gt's and GTP's have ground effects so I wasn't sure if that would have an effect.
