im thinking/planning on getting a used z7 kit from a member, but im still awaiting a reponse from him based on the T66 turbo thats included in teh kit. he said thers a tiny bit of shaft play, as well as saying its normal when running a turbo. again im still waiting on a more indepth description such as if the fins are rubbing the compressor housing, whetehr the fins move in/out(back/forth), and whether the fins wiggle from side to side.

is it possible to route the breather on the front valve cover with a hose rigged from it and have it connected to the vac line off the stock throttlebody that was mainly used for the evap or should it be routed to the preturbo inlet instead?

If your worried about getting the engine bay all messy and oil splashing out, they say do not run a breather, get a regular cap and put a fitting on the top of it and hook it up to a 3/8 line going in front of the turbo inlet. The idea is that the turbo will create a vaccum and help relieve the pressure. The other important thing is to have a inline oil seperator so your turbo isn't sucking in oil from this line.

The turbo will have a little play in it, the best you can do is see how much boost or power he was running and how many miles are on the turbo after looking at pictures of it to see if there is any physical evidence of damage.

thanks fosho99, but i've seen a few pics of where ppl are running a breather but also a line going out from there as well. how does one connect a fitting on the cap? i understand drilling a hole, but then screw in a fitting as well as apply some adhesive?

Steps to install a functioning PCV system instead of a breather:

    1. Remove front valve cover. Drill and tap front valve cover and install barb fitting (i.e. 1/2" NPT x 3/8" barb).
    2. In FRONT of turbo inlet, install a barb fitting, preferably a 90-degree fitting that points INTO air stream.
    3. Run a rubber or silicone vac line from fittings installed in steps 1 and 2.
    4. Remove rear valve cover. Drill and tap rear valve cover and install barb fitting.
    5. In FRONT of turbo inlet, Install a barb fitting, preferably a 90-degree fitting that points AWAY from air stream.
    6. Mount an oil catch can somewhere in the engine compartment.
    7. Run a rubber or silicone vac line from barb fitting installed in step 4 to catch can inlet.
    8. Run a rubber or silicone vac line from barb fitting installed in step 5 to catch can outlet.
    9. Tap stock PCV inlet hole in throttle body, and install a plug.
    10. Take off stock PCV valve cover. Get a rubber vacuum cap and put on PCV valve to block flow. Put cover back on.

Look at the plumbing diagram with the angled inlet/outlet in this link. This is what you are essentially trying to accomplish.
