So i was thinkning about saving for a turbo/built trans combo build. I defintily want to swap the motor before i turbo my car for a motor a little less used up. Im curious to know the advantages and disadvantages of an L36 motor vs. L67 motor. I cant decide on whats a reliable/safer setup.

L36 has higher compression, you would make more power under less boost. The upper intake manifold on the L36 is also a good turbo manifold, its glass reinforced and you don't have to buy the block off plate for the supercharger. L36's can be found a little cheaper than the L67's. The L32 or L26 engines are better than the L36/L67 though.

I'd go with a L26 and a Z7 kit with front/rear powerlogs and a DIY large A/A intercooler along with a built trans with the 1" chain. Should run you around $6000+.

an l67 will take more boost in the long run. youll find out that all the big turbo guys have an l67 block.

the higher compression will just make the car feel like it runs better during normal cruising.

The L32 has the strongest bottom end of any 3800. They're just expensive to get a hold of if you don't already have one. That's why it wasn't mentioned.
