I've been planning out a turbo build over the past couple of months, and the past two weeks I've been squirreling parts for it. My goals are to make as close to 400whp as possible (no more, srs lol) have full boost by 2500-3000rpm, not cost me over $2500 (I know my work is cut out for me so far) and not blow up the car or trans for at least a year(insert TEP comments lol). So far I have..

    -ZZP Z7 DP
    -ZZP oiling kit
-S/C block off kit ($470 shipped for the first three parts)
-TiAL BOV and 44mm WG ($400 shipped)
    -SS Front PLOG ($50 shipped)
-62-1 Turbonetics .83 A/R Journal Bearing turbo with coolant line fittings ($731 shipped)
    -60lb Deka Injectors ($210 shipped)

The rest of my wish list is....

-Bar and plate IC 27x6x3.5 with 2.5 piping ($226 shipped, cxracing ebay)
-ZZP Rear turbo PLOG ($199 new, trying to find one used)
-ZZP Z7 Crossover ($450, trying to find one used)
-Some type of different MAF setup

Misc hardware and hoses I have covered, my buddy has tons of spare crap(DSM guy, go figure)
Tuning I'll have covered as well.

Anything else I'm overlooking? I'll listen to suggestions of course, but for parts I'm pretty much set in stone, with the exception of the turbo as I'm still researching my options.

And hx35 is going to be the perfect size you want. It's not really hard to do the return line. Just tap a hole with the fitting. You'll want a boost controller. Umm I think you got it all though

Yeah I know, I'm just being a sally about it lol. I want to do it, and honestly that's really the only "problem" I have with it so I'm most likely going to do it anyway. Thanks for the input.

No problem man. Looks like we'll both be doing this route. I have a good portion of the things. But I also need to have the bottom end of the spare l67 built lol

Ed..there's a spare steel pan sitting on the shelf doing absolutely nothing for anyone. If it would help you out, come pick it up.

There's also two full drivetrains sitting on the floor that you could easily use for measuring/reference as to where to put the hole w/o being in the way of the starter or AC.

Not sure if the LQ4 maf will be enough. I was talking to DH a while back about which sensor and it appears you either want a modded one or an AFC. Maybe both.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

Like bill said, I'm going to use a 99' maf with the fixed afc. That's all you need and your set.

Thanks for the heads up, I bought them.

Also I'll look into getting a afc for the car instead of the LQ4.

I run a LT1 MAF and AFC. 400whp should be fairly obtainable. I did 346hp with a PT-61, CT kit, IC, plog, 1.9 rockers, and 12 PSI.

Looking forward to watching your build. By far a turbo kit was the best mod I did to my 3800.

Sounds like a good number, but did you have a rear plog? Did you have your wastegate dump into the atmosphere?

The CT kit won't allow for a rear plog to bolt up so I'm on stock rear manifold. What do you mean dump to the atmosphere? It's vented to the atmosphere and then other port is running to a boost controller. Wastegate spring for me is 10 PSI, but it's set to 12.

That's what I ment by dumped, lol sorry. I know the ZZP DP has a provision to have the WG bolt into it so it can recirculate.

I'm talking to zack (Tengis) about welding up a crossover and downpipe for my setup. Using the stock rear manifold, or I may get an fbody passenger side manifold.

We've talked on the phone numerous times. He's getting measurements for the size of turbo I'm using and getting materials and labor pricing for me now.

99pgpgt- If you don't mind, would you keep me in the loop as to the price and turn around for tengis to make a crossover? I may be interested as well.

-S/C block off kit ($470 shipped for the first three parts)
What the hell is a sc block off kit?

-LQ4 MAF, looking to use the stock TB with a MAF delete.
LQ4 is a complete crap turbo maf. The LT1/LS1 maf is pretty decent up to 17psi 430whp or so
-Turbo. I'm looking into a HX35, seems perfect for me, but I'm undecided due to the PITA oiling set up. (I really don't want to mod my pan for the return line) $200-400 usually used
There is nothing special about the HX35 that makes oiling hard... it uses a normal T3/T4 flange on the bottom....

-60lb Injectors ($275ish new, looking for a used set)

I would get 80s if you have E85 available in your area.
