This summer i will be working for the city making some bookoo bucks. I will be picking up a another grand prix. either a gt or gtp body. But that will be after i build the motor. I plan to pick up an L26 low mile block that way i have the aluminum upper intake manifold.
I plan to piece my turbo kit together that way im not spending more than 5,000 or more for this. I know minichopper is building his for under a grand or so not including tranny.
This wont start being built until end of summer so i have the funds. So since that wont happen for bout 5 or so more months, i plan to research and research and research since im a turbo newb. i know the basics of a turbo though.
Im gonna build the block while im in school. Plan to do:
ARP Head Studs
ARP Main Studs
Clevite Bearings (mains, cam and rod)
Double Roller
St3 cam

Theres things ive heard people say like open dump, external wastegate, internal wastegate. What do all those terms mean?
What kind of turbo should i go with? 62-1 setup or a little bigger? i dont plan to make this a track monster just a street car but fast enough. something that puts down 450 is what im shooting for.
Please dont bash. I wanna learn the way of turbos. I wanna have the best of both worlds. I have a built Supercharged, Cammed, Intercooled, built tranny GTP. Now i wanna build another Grand Prix but turbo this time.
