I have a 07 grand prix 3.8 na. Im buying a used cartuning kit. Its the non intercooled version.
    My questions are....
how much boost can i run on 91 octane gas?
Im also thinking of adding meth injection

best answer is to scan for kr and when you see it, either reduce boost or pull timing. I ran water/methanol on my supercharged gtp and it works good. I went with the AEM kit. not a hard install, worked good, was progressive, just required filling the tank. maybe keep your eyes open for a cartuning intercooler kit, or build your own using ebay piping and air to air intercooler.

I'll 2nd the intercooler upgrade. For ~$300 you can reliably and permanently lower your air temps and gain performance.

I'd guess you'd be able to do 8-10psi non-I/C and up to 15-ish with I/C. Try to run the best octane you can (91-93, and non-ethanol premium when available... converting to E85 is possible out your way, but it's extra cost in a few ways).

Good luck with the purchase, and keep us updated on progress.

    Not much on 91. 7 or 8.

And x2 on what everyone else said.

With the meth injection take the place of the intercooler? The benefits of cooling the temp and higher octane it adds

Correct, for the same basic cost, an intercooler setup will be more beneficial/consistent/no moving parts/etc. and still give you the freedom to add meth later, if you want to play with it down the road.
