    So I have perhaps a stupid question, but when folks mention running an lt1 maf, what vehicle are they referencing when they buy it, there seems to be a couple different ones. I've read one is 3" and another is 3 1/2". Seems like a 3 1/2" would be hard to outflow.

    If its a turbo you will outflow them all, thus enter the AFC

    I'm not planning on running more than 15 lbs of boost. I may end up going with an AFC, I haven't decided yet. I'd still like to know what folks are using as I see a ton of folks using or have used the LT1 Maf.

    LT1's would be like 92-97 350's from like a camaro/firebird or similar car.

    The GM LS1 style or truck style MAF comes in anything from 98/99-06. All the truck MAF's are the same for 4.8/5.3/6.0.

    I'd like to see someone put the stock MAF in a 4in intake tube with a custom aluminum MAF mount welded to it. Being that it's a card style MAF it should work great, just stick a honey comb air straightenererererer in front of it. Should help on the limits of the MAF.

    I ran turbo on stock motor, 15psi maxin stock maf.
    Now I got cam and ported heads and I can hit over 13,000hz.

    AFC or you can stick the stock maf in a 4" tube to gain some head room

    You got 15 psi on a stock maf? I thought they would max before that. The ls1 maf is the 3.5" one then correct? It seems you need an adapter harness to run it (or splice your own pigtail in). Is there any other reason to run an lt1 instead of an ls1. Seems like the ls1 would give me a lot more headroom than the lt1 in I decide to go that route.

    LS7 maf is supposed to support something like 900 hp.

    I debated it, but I found a couple threads where people tried it but they all said they were difficult/impossible to tune properly. Apparently the ls7 maf is super sensitive. I would put a stock maf in a 4" housing before I would try that I think.

    i was just taking to someone last night, they said they were talking to someone from intense iirc, said the maf should be on the turbo intake side at the air filter. not on the pressure side. why they keep breaking.

    seems ass backwards but kinda makes sense.

    only issue is the room to mount it, seems like every one is tight on air filter space. now add 3-4 inches to it. if theres a will, theres a way.

    stock maf never breaks

    With maf on turbo you have to deal with the fueling not being accurate with the bov throwing air away. Maf already read it but it never makes it to the motor.

    MIllions of turbos blow into a maf works for me!

    You want to go with one that has an aluminum body, quite a few guys have blown apart the lq4 style plastic maf under boost.

    Use the aluminum ls1 or lt1. You can adjust the maf tables with hpt where you won't need the afc. As far as placement of the maf pressurized or non, that depends on who you ask intense will say non and Zzp will say pressurized. I'm using a ls1 on the pressurized side with no problems.
