I am looking for advice on what turbo to run. I am looking for a good street/strip turbo. I dont want anything to laggy since I am currently running a stock stall. Planning to run high to mid 11's. I was looking at these two ebay turbos

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/CXRacing-GT6...-/390793322360

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/T67-T4-Turbo...hWX5pg&vxp=mtr

I know the ball bearing would probably spool quicker. But at what rpm do you think these would spool?

I am kinda on a budget looking to spend around 450 dollars

    Thanks

    Matt-

Ebay turbo's work, the cheap cheap china chargers do fail but many others work just fine.

You'd be surprised how many turbo's aren't made the US.

What my friend is trying to say is there are some areas where you can cut corners but the turbo isn't really one of them. Ebay turbos have a nasty habit of coming apart violently and causing lots of damage with it

Ebay turbos have been known to explode above 15psi, 10psi I am sure you could run all day.

I wouldn't spend $1,000 on a borg turbo for a grand prix that's for sure though.

    Big a/r t3 turbine side ~ 65mm exducer.
It's hard to find a large T3 turbine housing since most of the Garrett housings are hard to find... but AGP still sells similar housings .82 ar t3 for 400 bucks but then you're still looking at 600 to 900 bucks for the turbo from master power/etc.

Do you already have a kit and just need the turbo or are you building your own?

Okay so what turbo would you recommend if not a ebay turbo. The reason I was looking at the ebay turbos is cause I have seen Quite A few ls builds with them and no problems. Ive searched ls1tech a ton and alot of the fbody guys swear by them.

If it's the stattama crossover you're probably stuck finding a small ar t4

I have a stattama kit with a unknown ebay turbo now with unknown mileage that is leaking oil. This turbo was given to me and the guy claimed it was a Precision but under further inspection it is not. Probably why he gave it away for free.

Well maybe the ebay turbos have improved in quality, after I saw the damage from a couple of them exploding im a little gun shy. Listen to james he won't steer you wrong.

Make sure you have an oil restrictor on some of those cheaper turbos as our engines pumps will over oil them and push past the seals
Id recommend anywhere between a .070 to .080 orifice restrictor

Also drain hose routing/size and crank case pressure issues can exacerbate the issue

It was leaking enough oil that it puddled up inside the downpipe and also came out if the cold side of the turbo. Do you think it could just be a oil pressure problem?
