    Hello all,

This has been a long time coming and most of you know I do a bit of custom fab work. Turbo kits for these cars are nothing new and have been around for a long time. With limited space to work there is only so much you can fit without lots of custom work or different intake layout but I have always been a bit disappointed with the daily stop and go driving aspect of the kits. Sure its not too hard to get 400+whp, but its useless with street tires and with near extinct GMR 1" chains to keep the transmission reliable over this power level it is easy to turn a blind eye at this power level. Most turbos in the available kits are too big to run low boost so you end up with a lazy feeling car until the turbo wakes up. I was around the GN crowd long before the Wbody platform and there is a wealth of knowledge with their heritage on what works well for a street driven vehicle. Its not all about a big dyno number. Streetability and throttle response is where you spend most of the time driving, unless its a weekend play toy of course, so why not have a setup suited for this?

The setup I am working on is aimed around the 325-350whp range though will support more than this. This is a plenty of power in street trim especially for a FWD platform that won't get traction. The kit will include an air to air intercooler, tig welded 304 stainless hot side construction, Precision turbo and wastegate. Target price range about $2,800 (final price to be determined)

Why offer this? Sure the existing kits out there can achieve this power level but this one is designed to cater to this power level and under so you get instant spool and torque, its amazing the difference all this makes in how the car drives. Another reason to aim for this power level is the transmission side of things. It is a less expensive trans build and will definitely last longer at lower power levels which gives a more reliable overall package.

Prototype will be in motion in June.

sounds very appealing. what's the likelihood of a budget turbo for an LS4, one that doesn't make a lot of power.

I'm not planning on anything for the LS4 platforms. The Cartuning kits are set up nice for the V8 models and work very well
