After all that I would of figured you would of learned your lesson the first time but no..you just had to race again lol
Guys I didn't mean to come on here and ruffle feathers or sound like a tough guy, I just shared my lose.
The Intrigue's aren't "fast cars" by any stretch, but I don't feel they are "slow" either.
Since my races I've installed a 2.5" ZZP downpipe and both o2's are new, and have a 2.5" system ready to be welded in place.
Soon I will be picking up exhaust manifolds from a 1999 model because that year didn't have secondary air and while they're hanging around I'm going to sand blast the inside to smooth out the cast.
I have also contacted Sinister and they are going to do a light tune on my PCM and removing secodary air tables, which still doesn't put me into a fast car territory, but it holds its own with minivans and other common grocery getters.
Bottom line, I was deffending my car, as I'm sure most would do, no hard feelings on my end though...the truth hurts sometimes.
Although blueguy, I write you off as I'm sure plenty others do...you drive a Cobalt...

Spike guy can't take le jokes.
He no like sarcasm?
Well, gee...
If it runs like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ONbjTSNOHU Granted, that's a 3800...You've got what, the 3.5 DOHC? Didn't look it up, so shortstar?
Just stating facts is all...if it hit a 15 second pass, I'd be shocked. That's what my cobalt runs too, so thanks

blueguy, your Hardcore, shes strikes deep man lol.
Altough you do have the best looking Cobalt I've personally seen (over the net).
Really though, I mean no offense to anyone.
The 3.5 shows better #'s on paper than a N/A 3800, but I haven't raced one yet so I couldn't say for sure. I'm going to a track because my GF wants to "take me" in her Mercury Milan aka Ford Fusion.

Here's one of the 3.5 DOHC, if that's what you've got...
2000 OLDSMOBILE INTRIGUE 3.5 TWIN CAM SHORTSTAR ENGINE - YouTube
Those are some pretty drawn out gears for the powerband of that thing. Not saying my car is a speed machine by any means because it's far from that...but that acceleration just looks doggy. Gearing that car would do it wonders.
Bottom end isn't there at all with the 3.5l, but with the ZZP downpipe it's not as laughable anymore.
The autobahn Intrigues have the better gear ratio for acceleration, but I haven't researched them enough.
Do some research, and the fact the you have never raced an Intrigue with your N/A 07' doesn't help either.
" The 3.5 L engine became standard for 2000, giving the Intrigue the most powerful standard engine of any W-body car."
Most powerful Standard engine, especially considering the 04+ w's were heavier. You sure as hell would have lost.
1998–1999 OHV 3.8 L L36 (231 in³) V6 195 hp @ 5200 rpm, 220 lb·ft @ 4000 rpm
1999–2002 DOHC 3.5 L LX5 (212 in³) V6 215 hp @ 5600 rpm 234 lb·ft @ 4400 rpm (according to the Intrigue's owner's manual)
With no weight difference the 3.5 sure looks better, and I had a 3800 series II in front of a 5-speed in my Firebird. Off the line the 3800 is the winner, but after 20mph, it's over.
Well all i got is words, if i still had the GP id be up for a race.
But then again im comparing a newer 3800 N/A GP with an old ass Intrigue. So im guessing the older GP would be more comparable. But im just saying ive raced an Oldsmobile before with the GP, dont know what kinda but it lost by a car length on the freeway.
You raced an Olds, don't know what kind...Would race if you still had it...means nothing, there's no validity to what your saying until it actually happens.
I would be willing to race a 97-03 or whatever with a N/A 3800 series II/III.
Thems not fighting words, it's dudes with cars...
Well i cant do nothing since i dont have the car no more, but im also being bias cause olds to me are crap.
But what i can say after owning a 3800 is that it is much better than a olds
I'm not going to dog a 3800, quite possibly one of the best push rod v-6's ever made, actually wish I was lucky enough to have a 1998/99 Intrigue for the 3800.
My Intrigue has quite a few parts straight from 97-03 Grand Prix, so you call the Intrigue crap, your calling out a lot of w-bodies that at the same time.
Lol, ya all i can do is laugh. i just looked up the ods and the 98-00 have a 3800 engine. Also the olds 88 i think its called has the S/C 3800, i guess all i can say is it looks like crap but can be a sleeper underneath. Ah irony, i always say the car can look like crap but i tuned the engine to make it a sleeper. And here i am talking carp about one. LMAO
EDIT: i meant the 98 and 99 olds
I got killed by a neon that looked like a homeless person owned it, I learned my lesson on sleepers after that.
Like I said I'm not trying to make enemies, just defend my car.
These kinds of arguements are going to happen with true gear heads.
