last night was Night of Fire 2012 at Kil-Kare. i've been pumped up for it for a couple weeks now and took the night off work to take the cobalt down there. couldn't have been a more appropriate name, it hit 104 degrees yesterday. track temp was over 150. not conducive for good times on a boosted car, but hell, there were only about 15 cars so i got my runs in. the seat time did me pretty well, i was hitting low 2.3 60' times all night. not bad for me i suppose. most of those turned into 14.6 quarter mile times; there simply wasn't any air to carry me down the track. and, the last run of the night, i laid down a 2.25 60' - a new PB- shifted into second smooth as silk, threw it really hard into third... POP! car won't go into gear. coasted off and after poking around a little bit, found that i broke the clip that attatched the cable to the shifter. i guess i must have been into it lol. pretty salty i didn't get to run that one out, it had potential to be a new PB quarter ET. still drove it home after a fight with my insurance company about a tow, but that's a different story, and i have everything fixed up now. seeing all the nitro cars and supercharged thunder cars, and the jet truck, was a really good time though, so not a terrible night
