the redheaded step child SS with the 2.4 came in an automatic. not that that car should have been considered an SS.
Looks like I popped back in time for a good thread relevant to my interests. Owned 2 cobalts and a GP, had a base sedan Balt, a modded TC Balt that made 300 whp 360 tq on very minor mods and a tune, and a sedan gt gp. Grand prix was a good dd but the cobalt was a lot more fun to drive. Not only quick in a straight line, but they handle fantastically.
^^ i might be wrong here, but im pretty sure every set of headers available for w-bodies come with their own downpipe.
Thanks for the info, but i doubt having money aside to but a turbo kit but ive heard the kit can make the 2.4 a easy high 13 sec car, is true? Either way ill look into it, it maybe very cheap to buy im guessing the car that is.
EDIT: i found that the 2.4l SS can do 0-60 in 7.1 1/4 mile in 15.6, but its the manual. What would the Automatic do it in? Stock
High 13's?
ZZP was cutting into the 11's on E85 I'm pretty sure.
And quit with the edit ricer math crap...I ran a 16 flat in my base Cobalt...with an auto. A 5spd car with .2 liters more displacement and most likely better tires and upgraded suspension shouldn't have any issue being faster than a 15.6...but meh, whatevs.
I raced my buddies ss/sc on the track here after my topswap. He couldnt get traction he says. I got about a 1/2 second better than him while trapping at least 3mph faster if i remember correctly.
Cobalt + wheel hop = true story.
Ingalls TD, Upgraded Axles, ZZP Solid Upper Left Mount, and Flipped Lower Mounts kill most of it.
They do wheel hop, but the should MPH the hell out of a S/C 3800 in the 1/4. Dude needs driver mod.
