Well depends on how much the vtec car is built or the type of v-tec the car has... most people dont know that there are 2 different kinds of Honda's variable valve timing (v-tec). one untilizes both exhaust and intake aspects of the cam lobes and one just the intake (Vtec-E)

Been there done that and FARRRRRRRRR from impressed. I'm more impressed with the "Vtec" on my TBSS. LOL
Most ricers who brag about V-tec have never been in a fast car period. Its really not that big of a deal. Some people act its like a 100 shot of nitrous kicking in, FAR from that by any means. Hummm lets see if I had my option of Vtec, Boost, or Nitrous....... which would I choose? Whats Vtec again? LOL See what I mean.
VTEC = No thanks.
I agree.... Ill take boost any day. All V-tec is is variable valve timing, nothing special as far as power goes.... and nothing even darn close to NO2. Its funny cause honda drivers think that they are the only ones with VVT.....lil do they know that Toyota has VVT-i, Ford has Ti-VCT, ect....
Even the 3.9L in the newer Impalas has VVT. GM's high feature 3.6L V6 that makes 300HP has VVT and direct injection.
That V-Tec **** is overrated IMO. Funny thing is around here, the ricers who brag about it the most have 16 sec cars too. Most would **** a brick if they rode in a real car with top end (LS1 or LS2 powered vehicles for example).
Alot of the newer motors GM are producing are going too VVT. IMO its a damn shame because they booted the realible 3.8 motors. Take it or leave it but here are the facts, the 3.8 made damn good power and torque, good gas mileage and very damn realible. Keep in mind, this is from an old school pushrod platform. Its funny all these new tech motors and bull**** out there, and the old school 3.8 could compete and damn near any catagory they could. Its funny, to me. Talk about VVT, DOHC motors all you want, the 3.8 is bad ass and IMO one of the best V6 motors ever produced by anyone. And I don't think it will be topped for a long long time. This all brought to you by GM, not anyone else.
So if you want a complicated motor to work on, by all means go elsewhere. If you want something realible, simple, and anyone can work on, the 3.8 is a damn good canidate. Nuff said...
The 3.8 Series II was on Ward's top ten engines of the 20th century list for a reason.
i dont no about this list BUT $(^) yeah my engine rocks HAHA
haha... yup, gotta get a methanol injection kit on that bike, keep that KR down...
lmao menthal injection kit hahaha 2 FUNNY!
Oh, wait......nevermind.
