Every day I do the same thing, there is a two lane that merges to one in the town I live in. I always have to be first. Everyone else wants to be first, and it doesn't matter if it's a minivan or a semi tractor trailer; everyone wants first because the speed limit is only 50 and they don't want to be stuck behind some grandma doing 40 the whole way.
One day it was raining out, I was aproaching the merge along side a mazda, couldn't catch the model, it was a newer sub-compact and it was riced out with the loud fart-can exhaust, tints, and a carbon-fiber hood. I heard his down shift as i aproached him, so I hit the traction control and from about 35mph I downshifted from D to 2 as I punched it. I actually drifted as the front tires broke free and almost went offroad (luckily away from oncoming traffic) but I regained a general straight direction as I pulled a full car length ahead and could hear his fart-can over the sound of my supercharger whine.
Needless to say, I did 40mph the whole way home with him tailgating me, and a big old grin on my face!

Thanks. I live on an army base and it's really strict about speeding, so this is about the ONLY fun I can have around town.
I try to pick fights with comparable cars of the same platform (Impala, Maxima, Camry etc.) but no one wants to play. I would love to see if I could take a Maxima 3.5 top end, I heard that they are a beast up top even in stock form with automatics.

x2 your car will downshift if it needs too. Manually shifting an automatic just tears it up.

you can take it. itll give ya a good run, but unless youre a sucky driver, youll win. i ve run against a few without it ever bein closer then a car length. i went up agains a 3.5 SE R altima, only beat it by a hood, those things look pretty sweet. not sure what exactly it has different then a reagular 3.5 as far as performance, but its pretty fast.
