few days ago im trying to figure out a misfiring problem and scottydog suggested doing a scan and watching misfires, I noticed I was misfiring very little even when just cruising around town, so i was trying to figure this all out.

SO now im sitting at a light, it goes green and i get into the throttle heavy watching for misfires(dont worry my phone is mounted to the dash not in my hand lol) and i hearing tire squealing...so i look beside me and a rx8 with big rims is creeping by me, so i though why not and floored it, i just shifted into second so it downshift to first tires squealing a bit(im n/a not boosted) and i creep back up and go by him, I let off shortly after because it was way over the speed limit and he flys by but there was a red light coming up with traffic.

so i get up beside him and he creeps up a bit trying to ignore me, but i get beside him not to race but just to talk, he wont even look my way lol... not deterred I ask what year is it? he finally looks over all pissy and says "2010, but I was just cruising" I had to laugh a little but said " ya im just trying to figure out my misfire issue" lmao, he just goes back to ignoring me and when the light goes green he gives he good and starts weaving threw traffic and was gone lol.

I thought it was funny enough to share.

Did they even make RX8's in 2010? Just shows how irrelevant they are...

Ya they need sticky tires and rev the **** of it and drop the clutch, then they can launch alright, I don't think the rx8 thought I stood a chance, my car hasn't been washed in a long time and doesn't look taken care of(been to busy) but first gear can really giver lol.

They also need a full rebuild after like 50-75000k miles.

Yes. Until 2012, they finished it off with the R3 edition.

They're also very track capable. In a straight line you're looking at a mid to low 15's car. So it probably isn't a bad run for a L36 with some crap done to it. Hell we dog walked one in my other half's Regal from a dig. Wasn't even close.

    That's old rotary crap.

Most of the newer Renesis stuff (if taken care of like ANY engine)...will last 100-125k. No different than people with stock LS based engines with DoD that fail and ruin the rings and need rebuilds after the same timeframe. The rotary sucks, but not as much as it used to.

    Old crap FTW....

My buddy races and builds rotaries (and other engines). Gotta love a tri-rotor screaming at 12000 rpm. LOL

Too bad emissions standards make those Renisis motors die young.

Had some more fun, Chrysler 300 srt8 gave me a whooping, we both did some fly by's , he turn left I have him a thumbs up and he gave me a few honks, good guy.

Second was a cobalt or pursuit, saw his front end and very little of his back end, when I let off he flew by and had this huge tail pipe out the back that went straight like a trucker muffler... I was like wtf is that lmao.
