Thread: I need to know if these will fit.......

I need to replace the tires on my 2005 Grand Prix GTP. Stock tire size is 225/55-17. I found some 225/50-17's and would like to know if they would fit...

They will fit, but it might look a tad goofy with smaller tires on there. The speedo will also be slightly off.

Gas mileage will also drop a tiny bit. Although if you calculate it based off the miles the car thinks it's gone it will be the same or higher.

Those are bigger tires and probably will rub

nope stock tire size is 225/55/17 and he's asking about 255/50/17

Stock is 225/55/17, not 255/55.

225/55/17 are 26.74" in diameter

255/50/17's are 27.04" in diameter. They are also 1.18" wider.
