Just wanted to get your guys opinion on this. Had my summer wheels put on few weeks ago, just had one wheel off the other day and noticed they didnt put the hub centric rings in the rims.

I gave them a call and they said it didn't need the rings because the wheels lined up perfectly maybe the did a measurement or something i don't know but all they said is not to put them on. U guys agree with this? I know the wheels have a 5x114.3 bolt pattern for a fact.

You don't need them if you have 5x114.3 rims.

I thought the whole point was if you run 5x114.3mm pattern that you do need them (since stock is 5x115 pattern)??

    Nope.
    It's only 0.7mm off of 115mm...hardly a difference.
Mustang and Nissan bolt pattern rims (114.3) have been run on many w bodies with the 115 stock bolt pattern without issue.
I asked my local tire shop about this and they said the same.
The people that say no are probably the same people that say f body front rotors won't work on our cars either...lol

I have heard if they vibrate going down the road that you may need them but otherwise you dont. I have Mustang rims and no problems without the rings.

hub rings have nothing to do with the bolt pattern.

they have everything to do with the hub bore of the wheel versus what's on the car. most likely you have 'universal' wheels which will have a 73mm bore and would typically use hub rings.

however, if they don't vibrate or anything goofy then it's not necessary. a lot of these issues are also due to people not properly installing the wheels.

It's a yes and no answer really. If you need them then get them, if not then great. I went ahead and got some for my car just cause. They're pretty inexpensive as well.

Ya i had bought them and everything told them to put them in before installing the wheels, said they were not needed and installed the wheels correctly so I think I'm good.

I ended up getting some for my wheels that are 5x114.3 to get rid of the vibration I was feeling.

to reiterate, hub rings fix the difference in the HUB BORE. it does nothing to "fix" anything with the bolt pattern of the wheels.

Apparently it's quite a difficult concept.
