yea i would believe so as our spoke pattern is 5x115. im using a 99-04 v6 5-spokes measuring 5x114.3 and 16x7.5. i believe the 05+ the offset is wide and could cause rubbing on the fronts
alright cool, hope it works out well... and does anyone know when is the best time to apply the clear coat after the wheel paint... how long should i wait?
i painted an old set of the v6 stang rims to gloss black and i started to spray the clear coat after a few minutes after the last coat of black was applied. basically the paint was still a tad tacky IIRC and then sprayed on the clear. i just followed what was on the aerosol can instructions. someone else with more experience can chime in, as this was the first time i painted rims lol. HTH
I think most instructions say that if you do not apply successive coats in 10 - 15 minutes you have to wait a week or there abouts before applying more coats. So I would wait that long at least.
ok, because the rims are the 35th anniversary ones, so they have a inner "star" that im painting graphite, and the outside raised part is gonna be white... so i guess ill lay down like 3 coats of primer, then do the graphite one day, let it dry, and do the white another day, then wait and do clear after about a week.
not really, but i can put up some pics of the rims stock before the paint, i havent seen any1 else do it and i think it should look great. Im sanding all the mustang horses off the center caps, and after the paint im gonna put a pontiac logo on there.
this is the picture of the rims im gonna paint... that inner star is gonna be graphite, and the stuff around it white, the horse is sanded off. goes perfect on my white car with graphite accents and pin stripes!
yea, someone was selling these while they were on his car, so i guess they fit his... haha
My '05 Bullitts sit IN farther where Reptile's '04 Bullitts sit OUT farther, nearly flush with the fender.
yea my car isnt lowered at all so i guess thats a good thing
