Ok, I have a 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix GXP that I purchased in September of 2011. First of all let me say as a long time Ford Taurus SHO owner/lover who always admired the Grand Prix's from afar that I am very very happy that I decided to purchase the GXP last year versus buying the new look Taurus SHO's.

I really love the look and ride of my GP.

However, I have a question about the rear tires. They are stock and and as you all know they have the different size tires/wheels on the back to counter torque steer.

Well, personally I hate the look of the different sizes. I don't race my car on the street or anywhere else. I enjoy a "quick takeoff" every now and again, or especially passing a car on the highway in a nanosecond...but this car is 98% just a daily driver.

So, I was wondering about getting the same size tires for the back of the car. When I bought the car the dealer told me that some people are simply putting the same size tire that is on the front onto the back rims. Looking at those rims I don't see it.

So...what options do I have? Anybody done this? It has the stock GXP wheels/rims which I really like, so I don't want to replace all 4.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

You could try to find some front rims off a gxp and have the same size all around.

That was actually one of the thoughts that I had honestly. I would assume they would fit OK?

My first one was a 1994 (which I bought in 1996). GREAT car...from there I also owned a '93 and a '95. All 3 of them were Ultra Red and looked exactly the same. The '93 and '95 were stick shifts which were fun. I also owned a 1998 which had the 3.4L V8. They were all really great cars. The interesting part was that when I was going car shopping back in 1996 I was actually looking for a Pontiac Bonneville SSEi. I really loved those cars. I couldn't find the right one and the last dealership had the 1994 Taurus SHO and the rest is history.

I always loved the look of the Grand Prix's. When I went car shopping last year when my 1995 Taurus SHO just finally jumped the shark I originally was looking at the new SHO's. However, I just don't like the look of them and thought I would finally give the Grand Prix a chance. I started out wanting the supercharged V6 but when I found out about the GXP and found one at a local dealer in the color I wanted (liquid silver metallic) I jumped all over it. Love the car

    18x8 front
    18x7 rear

You can buy 2 more 18x8 and run them perfectly fine.

I am unsure on weather or not you can run the same size tire on both front and rear. With what you have now.

Good luck. Unless you want to spend $400+ on some repo's. Junkyard is your only option.

btw you can run 245/45s on the rear 18x7
98 GTP-Mods? Yeah, lots of them
2009 HEMI RAM- Mods are in the works!!

    01 Regal GS-SOLD :-(
