Thread: Best All season Tire

I currently live in KC. But, I will be leaving in August to go to school in Michigan. Currently I am running Potenzas... and they are bald. I am looking for tires to replace them, but I want them to last me awhile, be all season, and not break the bank. I plan on garaging my car in the winter there, but would drive if needed. So, overall a all season tire would be best. What tires would fit my wants?

All great all season tires, the top two have ~65k miles tread life.

ROFL, no.

Both the potenza and pilot as tires are under a 500 tread life, they wont last for beans and are NOT a good all season tire.

He wants a tread life of atleast 500+, around 600 being prefered.

They're great tires however.

And they GRIP.

Read his title, he is not looking for GRIP.

An no both those tires are not very good, you have to have a car for them to be used right. A Grand Prix is not a sports car and never will be. Both are overpriced for the life you get out of them.

Eh. My Pilot sports gave me 35k to the 3/32nds and i gave them hell.

Im just looking for tires to last me awhile. I would like grip while getting all of the other stuff, but it would be expensive to get everything out of a tire.

Should I stay away from Falken Tires? They have all seasons that have alot of meat.

They are good tires, but might not last as long, maybe 40k miles.

But everything depends on your driving style.

Well I dont speed off like I have a mustang. I do pick up speed sometimes. But overall, full boost is a treat for me. I dont do it often.

id stay away from anything goodyear, bridgestone, firestone and falken if youre looking at all season. they all do have some decent tires, but overall those companies make JUNK.

yoko touring s arent bad, hankooks arent bad, dunlop s ii my buddy recently put on are looking like a nice set too.

Thats purely an opinion. I put bridgestones and firestones on cars everyday, both of the ones I had said in my first post, both great all season tires. I know how long they last because the people that buy them come back for service and I know their cars.

Don't knock them untill you try em. But in the end the tire he wants is up to him.

Falkens are good tires. I had a set on the front of my Grand Prix for about a year. Bad alignment ate them up though. I have Firestone FR710s on it now. Have had then for about 2 months now. They are good for what they are. I will see how well they do when the snow flies, but I have driven on some crappy tires in the winter so I don't think I will have an issue.
