I kinda like it. What paint did you use, how many coats, etc. I think would have put some clear coat on them, but thats me.
used dupli color wheel paint. about 3 coats of the paint with some wetsanding in between and finished with 2 heavy coats of clear.
Okay, may have been the lighting then, it didnt look like they had been clear coated.
I hope you will keep us posted on the long term aspects of it. How it holds up, cleans and so forth.
I will say this. I bought a gallon of 'Super Clean' at Wal-Mart. While it is by FAR the best degreaser and cleaner I have ever tried, it will ruin paint done with off-the-shelf paints like you get at Autozone and the like. It doesnt seem to affect factory paint unless its really thin, but that may have been from the power washer too. I painted an exhaust manifold heat shield on my Rodeo with an aluminum color and it looked really good and held up well. But when I detailed the engine with the SuperClean, it really dulled the paint on the shield.
So my only advice to you would be to be careful with what cleaners you use now that you have painted those rims. I know the SuperClean will dull out clear as well.
i painted mine the other day but i dont think they came out as well as yours i did about the same as you, sanded/wash. primer, then duplia color wheel paint. mines flat black with no clear coat tho. i gotta go back and put another good coat on them and some clear coat.
what do i have to do to be able to upload photos??
Looks pretty good mwalk.
when i masked mine off i covered the entire lip with tape then took a razor blade and followed the inside of the lip, cutting the tape right on the edge of the lip. they dont look that bad.
