I was wondering if anyone has used plugs with any success? I know they are not near as good an inside patch, but if one puts one in how long will it last?

If a plug is used in an emergency, can it be pulled and replaced with a patch later on?

    Thanks

I had a nail in my rear tire. I plugged it several months ago and haven't lost any air since then. Plugs work just fine on small holes.

I use plugs all the time. Have two in the car (different tires); just did one last weekend. They are fine for nail or screw holes, or for emergency repairs on large holes. When four-wheeling, I once had to put 4 plugs in a guys sidewall to get him home; worked just fine.

Once the plug is installed, light it on fire and let it melt into itself, giving it the best possible seal.

And yes a plug can be removed after to be patched.

Plug is great on the side of the road fix. You can ride with them for a little while, but I would suggest getting it patched at the next avail. And yes, they can be pulled and patched. Everyone has their own opinions about them, but I say good for emergency, otherwise get it patched.

I have used plugs many times. But I always put a thing of slime in after, just to make sure the seal is good and not going to leak on me.
