Might finally be ready to get my GTX wheels on the GP and am looking for some input on tires. Will be keeping the stock 16" for fall/winter so that's not an issue. Looking for more of a performance tire. Any good suggestions on a brand/model to look into?

Billbo used to rave about his Potenza's on his Regal...so they might be an option. But in that size through my retailers, I'm seeing more touring tires and nothing really performance oriented.

I'm not opposed to running a different size, I was just told that this was the largest tire I could safely run on these wheels. If you have a better idea then I'm all ears. I do drive quite a bit so if they are SUPER soft I'll just kill them in a matter of a month. When I do take it to work and back it's a minimum of ~100 miles just that day so if there is something that will offer some better performance while keeping some mileage ability I'll check it out. An no, $300/tire is NOT going to fly right now. It's a GP, not a Vette lol..

    I'll give the Potenza's a look.

There doesn't seem to be as many options in that particular size than I would have thought.

Some Continental Extreme Contact DWS are decent tires. Good tread rating and overall performance.

Maybe look to see what Hankook or Kumho offers.

Thought about the DWS. I know they're good tires. Question is, do I go with the stock 235/55/17 where I have a better selection or something else? My 03 CV LX Sport runs the same 235/55 size so I'm familiar with what is avail. for that. I'll check out Hankook too just to see what's out there.

Well, looks like I'll go with the 235/55/17 size for now. Really don't want the speedo off too far anyway. Looking at the new Firestone Firehawk Indy 500, or maybe Kumho Ecsta PS31. Still looking for options.

The Firehawk has amazing dry grip...same with the Ecsta. Can't really go wrong with either. I prefer the Firestone over Kumho personally because Indy.

Kinda leaning towards the Firehawks too. They seem to have a lot of good reviews and these are the new revised versions. And yeah, 'cause Indy. Like a second home to me.
