On some cars I bet you could for sure. Like a miata or something similar that is already light weight.
But only losing 16lbs overall on a big sedan like ours isn't going to really make it noticeable.
I didn't think it would. I have to buy a new set of wheels and tires anyway.
May not be "noticeable" like you are looking for, but I figure any weight that can be shed couldn't hurt.
16" tstars to 17" bullitts added 40lbs total, I noticed nothing of a loss, winter change back to tstars noticed no gain.
Seat of the pant's feel is where it's not likely.
If you hot lapped it and did time trails perhaps you'd see a very very minor different. But like said, less rotational mass it has to move, the better off it is.
Thats why guys that run trucks at the drag strip run 15's and 16's because the rims weigh 20-50lbs less than there standard 18's and 20+in rims. Like a set of 20's with 275/55/20 is nearly 90-100lbs per corner, 18's are closer to 65-70lbs.
