that one is worthless. Go for the Intense s/k, its the most complete kit available.

yeah ive heard great things about intense's kit... get that. i like alot of zzp's stuff but their shift kit isnt the best

Tranny Man 95 \ Triple Edge Performance Sells the TransGo Kit I believe. I've heard alot of great things about those vs ZZPee and Intenses kits.

anybody know if the transgo kit has different springs so you can have different levels of shifting firmness. like with the zzp kit.

possibly a dumb question...
what is the benefit of a shift kit, and would it be worth while in an 04 gp gt(n-a) with no current engine mods?

The benefit is that the Tranny will not slip between gears, thus saving your clutches. Also will you have a smoother transition between gears when shifting. The only possible bad side to them is that it puts a bit more pressure on the transmission. Not a significant amount, but if you have an older/higher mile tranny, it would be best to overhaul it before popping one in it.

As for the ZZP Shift kit. They have colored PLASTIC/ABS pieces (shims) that go over the two rods that control the shifting. To me this is stupid, I know ABS is quite durable, but the Intense or Thrasher Shift kits (I have the latter) are made of nice heavy duty metal and wont break down as easily as the plastic/abs ones would.

Also the Intense and Thrasher kits give you all new springs and tranny filter to go along with the kit. :th_thumbsup-wink:

Ive had the zzp one for 40k, took my tranny out to rebuild and they have shown no signs of wear. Come on people, its a shift kit, it is what it is, spacers that allow the accumulator to bottom out faster, less cushion on the shift, resulting in faster shifts. You could go down and for $5 get the materials to make your own, exactly like the zzp one. Its all it is, get over it. Professional guys have been doing this longer than most of you have been alive. I know you hate zzp but lets keep this on a professional basis as the actual workings of a product.
