I have an 06, with an manufacture date on the sticker of 6/05......its red but I can not locate a code sticker where are they found, how can I tell the color?

What were the vin production numbers for 06? I think its possible I have one of the first 06 gxp's off the line......maybe????

Still wouldn't make it a rare car. And being the first(or around there) in production for the 2nd model year of GXP isn't exactly special either.

Sorry, bud.

You could always call or go up to the dealer and give them your VIN they should be able to give you the RPO code.

You sure it's not a late model 05? That's what mine is. Same production date as yours. VIN reads 05. But has the 06+ LS4 motor. Kinda hard finding OE motor parts. lol

What u mean 06+ ls4 motor...a stock Ls4 is an ls4. Only difference is when in 07 they changed it from displacement on demand to active fuel management

OE motor parts? Like what?
05-06 all the same 07-08. Active fuel management still the same as dod. Only physically different is the intake because it relocated the map sensor.

Early 05 models have a different belt drive/pulley setup. Not sure why. When I ordered a belt an alternator it had to be 06. 05 didn't work.

I dont see it. i looked in the Factory service manual and we have all the same configuration for drive belts and alternator through all years LS4 05-08. even on rockauto we have all the same belt part numbers as well.

I'm not here to argue, but I seen the print out of both motors. Have a good day. ^_^
You have a copy of said print out?
Did you get a Dayco belt the first time, looking on Rockauto the Dayco belt is shorter than the Gates Goodyear and AC Delco belts.

Totally not my intention to argue but I'm curious about your statement which is why I went and looked everything up and saw no change, by all means if you encountered that 05 ls4 are different please let us know, I would like to better informed.

Believe me, we were confused when it showed up like that. I'm not 100% positive, but I think it was the tensioner that was different, and there was a missing idle pulley. I'll ask my roommate in the morning.
