Hey everyone ive been on here a few weeks now and i have been bust with trying to get this thing to run and now time for me to post some pics of her and start myself a little of a build thread.Well to start off im 22 married and have a 3 year old so this wont be one of your super fast builds not looking to make it fast but more as a reliable daily for my wife and I.So i picked up the car from a mechanic in a trade for a non running ford probe gt 5 speed that had been sitting in a buddy's back yard for 7 years got it for 500$ and after messing with it for a while i got fed up and needed a running car so jumped on craigslist and found a 1997 Grand Prix GT had some cosmetic problems so i jumped on it and traded straight up got there drove the car home and parked it for a bit went to start it and no go.So after trying to track down the problem it wound up being a bad ignition relay and one of the wires to the ignition was toast.Previous owned put a new ignition in it and left a wire exposed and it grounded out so i replaced all that got it running again and now it will run but it runs like crap now as it was throwing some codes and they are as followed P1651-Fan 1 Relay (replaced but blew the relay again),P0401-Exhaust gas recirculation flow insufficient detected(tried to track down but no luck really),P1406-EGR valve pintle position circuit fault,P1655-EVAP purge solenoid control circuit fault(replaced and code is gone), and P1870-Transmission component slipping.So as of now the car will start and run but has a fluctuating idle and tries to move even when brake is applied so im guessing the egr valve went out on it considering the pintle position code as well as the egr insufficient flow so i am going to replace that and see if i get any results from that but enough talk on to the pics i know they arnt the best but bare with me here will have a few more to post tomorrow for you all and feedback positive or negative is fine i wont take it to heart

I would suggest a PickNPull for a new tail, a red spoiler (looks funny without them IMO), and a new EGR valve. If I remember right, even on the 97s it would throw the CEL and run bad until you get the car tuned for no EGR and the codes set to "no report". Biggest thing is to make sure the car is running right, then later mod if you feel the need.

If you haven't read it yet, you may give it a look over, preventative maintenance is always best.

yea visual mods will come later the tail light still works as of now but i do need to get it replaced and i dont think im going to delete the egr ill just replace it so i can get it running right thanks for the feedback though and as far as the bra on the car its going to stay on till i get a new front bumper and hood because the car sat out in the country for a while and they thought it would be a good idea to take an axe to the hood one time its real close to the bumper but didnt do any damage other then the hood and i also need to get another rear bumper for it and a few new tires to get this thing road worthy happy turkey day everyone ill post some pics here in a little bit
 


oh and also the wipers on the car work but once your turn them off they stay in the position you see them in the picture
