I just joined to see if I can get some help fixing up my 2001 Grand Prix SE. Having some tranny issues when warm code P0742 TCC Locked. Why is this only happening when the engine is at normal temp? Bad TCC Solenoid? I have an theory, I only notice this after warm because the TC is engaging only at that speed in which reaches normal temp so of course it would only occur when warm, its just not releasing the TCC. Any ideas?

Nope not sure how to check the tran temp, I burped the coolant had to add a new bleeder that was snapped off, it seems to run cooler but still on warmer days the tran starts acting up, hard shifting and seems like tc seems to lock. I googled this issue and found a few things like the tran cooler needed, but I also read that adding coolers is a bad idea due to leaks etc, I wonder if I need to flush the stock tran cooler or something, I just don't want to start digging in if it is something like a tcc selonoid or something else. thanks.
